From the personal attention given to establish the exact requirements of each removal client, to the speed of transit, economical rates, and access to a truly worldwide moving network, the ATEC commitment to quality and value for money is always there. Our commitment is to treat each customer and their possessions with the highest level of care that we can. Our service includes a detailed estimate, a computerised inventory, together with a comprehensive description of the packaging and transportation services used. The automated survey at the start of each move using the latest hand held estimating equipment recognises that each client is unique. It identifies the exact requirements of each specific move, and decides on the best method of removal for the volume, location and contents involved. The company can handle all customers' requirements at both ends of your removal including packing for export, freight, and customs clearance and delivery of goods to your new home. Naturally, with a whole household move, we will unpack and place all the goods in individual rooms upon your instructions. We will always remove all waste and packing materials, aiming to leave nothing more than a truly satisfied customer. Air Freight When weighed against the savings on hotel bills for executives and their families waiting for the arrival of their possessions, and the minimum of disruption to they're working pattern. Relocation by air freight is often a very attractive option. Through our network of airport offices we are able to access the widest range of services at the most competitive prices. When sending your items by air we will usually be able to supply you with all the details of transit; airway bill numbers,
airline/handling agent, flight details etc, two-four working days after we receive your shipment. However, we will not
release any information until payment has been made in full (cleared funds). The local agent of the airline carrier will
generally notify the addressee of the shipment's arrival at it's destination. The cost of sending your baggage via air freight is determined by the total weight of your goods. However, if you have larger outsized items, for example surfboards and bicycles, the cost may be determined by the size rather than the weight, as these goods will take up more space in the aircraft. We can offer the following services to most destinations: Airport Uncleared With our Airport Uncleared service, your goods will be sent to the arrival destination airport uncleared. Once your goods arrive you must arrange to collect your baggage personally from the destination terminal. You must clear the baggage through customs and settle all destination charges, which may include customs duty, sales taxes, customs clearance, terminal fees, airline charges, agent fees and quarantine charges (where applicable). Air - Residence This is our full service door to door product, from the time we pick up your baggage to the time it is delivered to your destination address, we handle everything. All clearance and delivery charges are pre-paid in the UK, only any extraordinary charges incurred (i.e. bonded storage, customs detention, local customs duty or sales taxes) will be charged to your account. (Please note: All door to door deliveries are to kerb-side only unless otherwise arranged.) Economy - Airport Uncleared This service is ONLY offered at our Airport terminal offices, it is based on our Air - Airport Uncleared service, but provides our customers with an added degree of flexibility as freight can be deposited with us until 22:00 at all Heathrow terminals, and, additionally, on a 24 hour basis at our Gatwick South Terminal. Consignments fully booked and paid for on this service are immediately allocated onto the next available flight, often providing a faster time scale than our standard Air - Airport Uncleared service. Express - Airport Uncleared When the required time scale outweighs the costs, our Express - Airport Uncleared service may be for you. As with our Air - Airport Uncleared service you must clear your baggage through customs and settle any destination charges, which may include customs duty, sales taxes, customs clearance, terminal fees, airline and agent fees and quarantine charges (where applicable). The transit time for our express service is usually 3 to 5 days depending on the destination. If you intend for someone else to collect your baggage you MUST provide us with a letter of authority with the named individual prior to shipment. We have no control over foreign customs services who might undertake searches or charge duties/taxes at their discretion. (Please Note: In some countries you must collect and clear your goods personally.) SECURITY HANDLING NB: All baggage sent by air requires a fully completed security declaration form to comply with the stringent requirements of UK and International Law. Please complete carefully as it is a legal document and the consequences of misdeclaration under the (UK) 1990 Aviation and Maritime Security Act (and/or similar legislation in other jurisdictions) could be severe. We cannot accept the following goods by for shipment by air, sea, or road: aerosols, batteries, explosives, corrosives, firearms and ammunition, radioactive material, perfume, pressurised or unpressurised cylinders and/or similar type containers, paint, fuel and/or fuel tanks, or weapons of any description, etc. Baggage containing such items may be subject to delay and extra charges, which will be debited to the sender's account. Please note that your baggage may be subject to x-ray and/or hand search at the complete discretion of our own security staff and airline or airport security. A twenty four hour security holding period is mandatory. Sea Freight During the entire shipping process Excess Baggage uses only the most reputable carriers supported by a comprehensive door to door marine insurance cover. While our clients possessions are in transit a highly advance computer system traces their progress on a day to day basis. When sending baggage by sea, please ensure that you complete a full packing list, which may be required for both customs and insurance purposes. Door to Door Sea freight services From the time we collect your baggage, to the time it is delivered to your destination address, we handle everything. The charges listed on our sea freight price guide include Customs Clearance, Terminal Charges and Local Delivery costs to residences in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore only. Charges exclude Customs Inspection, Quarantine Inspection, Import Duties and Sales Taxes. These rates are available on request. Door to door rates are available to a wide selection of other destinations. Door to Port Sea freight services With our door to port service, you arrange to collect your shipment on arrival from the Destination Terminal. In most cases, the owner/sender of the goods must also be the person collecting the baggage. You will need to clear the shipment through local customs and settle any Terminal, Customs Duty, Local Tax, or Wharfage Fees, including New Zealand & Australian Quarantine Fees, where applicable. Please note we have no control over foreign Customs Services or Local Authorities, who may undertake surcharges, or charge Duty, Tax, Quarantine or other fees, at their discretion, and in accordance with local regulations. | ![]() |
